These terms govern your use of Shadbox ("we", "us"), a catalog of shadcn registries and the items inside them. By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

The service

Shadbox lets you browse and search registries, preview their items, and copy install commands. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

Third-party registries

Registries and their items are created and published by third parties, not by Shadbox. We do not own, endorse, or guarantee them, and a listing does not mean an item has been audited.

Each item is subject to the license set by its publisher. You are responsible for checking that license, and for reviewing any code before you install or run it.

Previews and generated examples

Live previews run third-party code in your browser. Usage examples may be generated by AI and can be incomplete or wrong. Both are provided for convenience and should not be treated as documentation from the publisher.

Submitting a registry

When you submit a registry, you confirm that:

  • The information you provide is accurate
  • You have the right to submit it, including any logo, name, and description
  • The registry does not contain malware or unlawful content, and does not infringe anyone's rights

You keep ownership of what you submit. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, and display it, along with the public contents of the registry, in order to operate and promote Shadbox.

We may review, edit, hide, or remove any submission at any time, for any reason.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Disrupt the service, or overload it with automated requests
  • Bypass security measures or access limits
  • Submit content that is harmful, misleading, or unlawful
  • Use the service to violate any law or the rights of others

Intellectual property

The Shadbox name, website design, and original content belong to us. Third-party names, logos, and code belong to their respective owners.

Shadbox is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shadbox will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service or of any third-party registry, item, or code.

We may update these terms as the site changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Shadbox means you accept the updated terms.
